Tickets are still available for the West 49’s Take The Cake competition and the event being just over a week away, our competitor interviews are just flying in. Today we have an Osiris double feature to get you over your Wednesday hump day.
Teammates Corey Duffel and Shuriken Shannon at first glance could not be more different. From they way they dress, to the obstacles they choose to skate, it’s hard to imagine that they would have anything in common. But they do, they are both two of the best skaters in the industry today. Both showing no mercy when they hit the streets, they are going to prove as formidable competition during next weekends event. Check out their interviews below to see what make these teammates tick.
Also remember to make sure to check out the Axe Twist Amateur Open. Details for that event can also be found below.

What's your best memory of Canada? Skaters were sick and it’s Beautiful.
What would you do with the $50k 1st prize? If I came up on 50k oh boy! I’d buy a house or build a skatepark.
Your big money go-to trick? Its Exclusive gotta wait and see I guess.
What's your competition strategy, Warm-up Party or Wrap-up Party? Both. Just gotta do what you do and not think about it so much,
Which skater are you most worried about? Everybody is good not too worried just gotta see what happens.
Pre-contest ritual? Music.
Song choice for contest run? 2 Live Crew.
Favorite type of contest terrain? Everything.
Future of skateboarding: contests or Internet videos? Regular Skateboarding Videos.

What’s your best memory of Canada? Meeting Wade Desamro.
What would you do with the $50k 1st prize? I’m not winning anything. If I had 50 grand though I would buy a killer boat to take out in the wide blue yonder with Rachel for a while.
Your big money go-to trick? The tricks I do are yesterday’s papers. They aren’t big money moves.
What’s your competition strategy, Warm-up Party or Wrap-up Party? Wing it?
Which skater are you most worried about? Who’s in it? If there are Canadians in it- all of them. They are gnarly and will win the money for sure.
Pre-contest ritual? Never had any before so ill keep it that way. Stress out and not want to skate, and then say fuck it and try a few moves and then get stressed out again and wish I were out skating street with no one watching.
Song choice for contest run? It’s a contest run? Shit. I had no clue. Now I just got even more stressed out.
Favorite type of contest terrain? Don’t like them. They are all too nerve wrecking. I get scared and embarrassed skating contests. I can’t keep up and I rather be on the streets.
Future of skateboarding: contests or Internet videos? I hope they both fade away. Street skating and vhs tapes!
