Winter Won't Stop For The West

It seems that winter just won't give up for some parts of Canada. After last week's re-opening of some Vermont resorts, western Canada has been hammered once again by another storm. Stories of people driving through a blizzard on the Sea to Sky highway ran wild across the internet. Back on April 8th, Whistler Blackcomb declared they had moved up to their second snowiest winter ever, with a record snowfall of 1,432 centimetres or 47 feet, passing 06/07's record setting season. Blackcomb is still open until May 24th, and just received a fresh 20+cm in the alpine. With optimal conditions, it's hard to believe the bike park opens on May
15th.
Anyone know Whistler's snowiest winter ever? I tried my best and couldn't find it anywhere. I don't want to jinx it, but I wonder how close they are...
Calgary also continues to get dumped on, with a winter storm bringing the city to a halt last week. The same snow made a stop over in the mountains, stalling long enough to leave some fresh snow on Sunshine Village, with more still falling. Lake Louise is closed for the season.
